10-17-07 Update - Late Fees... I just received my invitation in the mail this week, so I am assuming all of you have yet to or just gotten yours as well. So, if you bring the card with you to registration on Thurs. or Fri., we will waive the late fee. Don't forget the card! That is your proof that you got it and it is the reason you are here, and why you didn't send in payment etc. Hope to see you here! All registration will be finalized at 516 Lake Lulu Dr., so be sure to sign up and or finalize everything, including getting your wristband, and the copy of the do's and don'ts, and of coarse pick up your T-shirt when you get here. Thanks! gy
10-15-07 Update Just found out that The Dark Romantics are not able to come. But we will still be seening Mouse Fire & The Secret State. As of now, everything seems to be falling into place. I have more and more people e-mailing me, calling me, saying how they look forward to the event. The key here isn't numbers, but the quality of the attractions, and people. I have received a few givaways, and The check book is fattening. I look forward to giving some of it away. You are the reason this sport exists, and I am glad to share my home and my toys to all who wish to make it. I hope to see you here, or wherever having a great time this weekend. Have a beer for me! Cheers. gy
10-5-07 Update T-shirts will be available for sale directly after the tournament. If you would like to pre-order them, just send $19.95 + $5.00 shipping to 516 Lake Lulu Dr., Winter Haven, FL 33880, or you can use paypal, as long as you send your address with it. Paypal use genoyauchler@aol.com for sending $$$ Specify size, and whether you want black or white. Sizes are S, M, L, XL, XXL Click Here for the Graphic of the 07 Master Craft Chain Reacton T-shirt Don't forget, one of the benefits of coming to this event is you get a free T-shirt along with your paid entrance. Rock on! (good for 4 day guests and competitors)
Also, we will not be having a band. We will be having 3 bands! More info on the select bands can be found on these links... Mouse Fire The Dark Romantics The Secret State
10-4-07 Update Trophies, t-shirts and banners are ordered, sponsorship $ is trickling in, and the weather couldn't be better. I am getting excited about this event! Just a note, we will be having 7 different competitions this coming event, and with that we will need 21 judges. I figure volunteers are better than saying "hey, you, can you judge?", so if anyone has an interest or just wants to do it, let me know. I am trying to keep this fun for everyone, so if half of us do it just once on Friday and again on Saturday, it won't be bad. You don't have to do it, but someone does! (It's fun! Really!)
9-28-07 Things are looking up! After putting up a poll for support of this event, the United States Hydrofoil Association has voted, and it looks like we will be given full support from the board of directors! Thanks again USHA.
Also, although Sportsstuff wasn't able to come through for us as the title sponsor again this year, they have promised some product for all of us to try out here at the event. If you see something lying on the beach you want to try out, by all means take it! (Just be sure to bring it back when you are done so that others can enjoy it)
Lastly, it looks good for Chain Reacton 09 as being a large event once again. I am currently working with USA Water Ski on how we can make this event bigger and better than the 06 inagural event, where we gave away $20,600 in prize money, and had national TV coverage. Anyone interested in supporting or helping on this event, call me... next year. Look for Spring of 09.
9-16-07
Gator Boards has stepped up and donated a Wakeboard and Bindings for the overall winner of this event. Thanks Gator! It should be fun to see all of you riders cross over to the other sport. Remember, your overall score for the event will go up just by entering the next discipline. And if you win, you get free stuff! (Prize money may also be available for the overall, depending on the next few weeks.)
Update 9-13-07 emailed to the lists this day:
List members - hydrofoilers,
Just dropping a line to let all of you coming to the Chain Reaction in on a
few things.
First, if you decide 4 days of fun is too much, you can pay $25 as a guest for two days,
and you can pitch a tent, or take up any unused floor space.
Also, any sponsor gets first dibs on beds, towels, showers, and tournament
viewing locations, to include tow boat, camera boat, and air port pick ups free
of charge with a sponsorship/donation of $200 or more. (in other words, royal
treatment) (not to include any other offer. Some rules apply. Contact/See
host for more details either at the event if nights stay not required, or prior
if it is.) Offer also for first entrants. All rooms/floor space / tent locations
to be given out to the earliest sponsor/entrant.
If you are a pro, and are on the fence, call/email me to find out how the
"help a pro get to the event fund" works. Women who are on the fence should
automatically come. Same goes to the guys. Who knows? Your future wife/husband
/X-wife/husband may be coming too! (Lord let it not be the latter!)
Also, if you are a current broke Pro Show Skier from the last year, you may
qualify for half price entrance to the event/competition. (Pro means you got
paid to be at a ski show full time)
All entrants to receive a free T-shirt. Sizes may be limited. Not
available in IV large or IV small.
I already have a few entries. Thanks to those who got'er done
early.
Update: 9-4-07 Sponsors I would like to announce Master Craft as our official boat sponsor. After speaking with the higher ups, they want to support this event full on. Expect an X-star (brought to you by the local dealer, Bay Area Water Sports) for the tow boat, and possibly a few other boats to be displayed. Thanks Master Craft and Bay Area for your support! To e-mail them and thank them personally (I recommend it), click here: especially if you have purchased a boat recently from them. If you have, make sure you tell them why (because they support our sport!!!) Still working on a few other sponsors, but things are shaping up nicely. Hope to see you all here. And remember, if you can't swing the $$$ for the hotel, stay here! The weather in October is perfect for camping, (bring your tent) and you can shower in the house. If there is floor space, we can set you up there. Don't miss the event because of $$$!

OVERALL TITLE NOW POSSIBLE Also, make sure you brush up on your Hydrofoiling, and your Wakeboarding. There will be an overall scoring for this event, so all you have to do to one up your buddy is enter the wakeboard event. The format is loose at this time, but we are considering a two pass run and a double up at the end. The cost to do both events normally would be $150 if you are in the amateur for both, or $200 if you are in the Pro Hydrofoil. But due to interest in seeing all you foilers ride a wakeboard, we now will allow entrance in both events for $110 for the amateurs, and $160 for the pros, if registered by the deadline of one week prior, or October 11th.. Good at wakeboarding, but not foiling? No problem. The weighting for both events will be the same for the overall title, so you can still do well just by entering the foil competition, and ousting your buddies. So when you register, check both boxes, and send in the appropriate amounts. You will have a blast going outside your comfort zone, and so will we!!! *Note - if you plan on riding the stand up, this can be considered your second event, or you can ride in all three and see what 2 events come out the best for you! (riding in the third event will be another $30) All overall scoring will be using the top 2 events. Scores will match from amateur to pro for the overall title, unless there is a tie, in which case the pro will beat the amateur.
Update: 8-30-07 The following e-mail was sent to the chairchatters@yahoo hydrofoil list, and the hydrofoil@yahoo list: (Some current changes have been made as of 9-2-07 WINTER HAVEN WEATHER
First off, I want to apologize for the delay of securing the dates. Anyone
who has ever put on an event knows the craziness of putting these together.
Nobody wants the dates to be jostling around, including me.
So, after long consideration, I decided to not worry about the potential
sponsors request, and do things on my own time. After all, it's my birthday
weekend, and if I want a party with my hydrofoil friends on that weekend, then
that's when I am goin' to do it!!! Sponsors
Anyway, the dates remain the same. October 18-21. (Sorry Dan P.) Here are
some other details that have yet to be unveiled:
There will be 6 hydrofoil divisions: There will be 1 Women's/Girl's Amateur Wakeboard Division: Women's Pro Open Men's/Boy's Amateur
Men's Open
Men's Pro Stand up
Hydrofoil
Where do you fit? Well, I am sure Brad Scott has a better idea of who goes
where, but to sum it up, (Guys) if you do mobes, your pro. (you can also be in
pro if you don't do mobes, but you have a ton of tricks including heli's and
front's and combo's) If you don't do much of these, but you rip, your in Open.
If you maybe can do a few inverts, but most of your tricks are jumps, or all of
your tricks are jumps and skidders, your in Amateur.
Women
If you can get inverted consistently, you probably are in the Pro
category. If you have made one or two, but haven't got them dialed yet, you can
still go in Amateur, but I am not sure on which way we are gonna go on this. I
would like to reserve the Amateur women's category for those who are just
jumping and the like.
Stand UP Not sure how this will work, but after talking to some foilers, I have
decided to have a separate competition for stand up foils. The entry fee will
be the same as the amateur ($75)
If we get enough riders, I may even have prize money for this.
So, whether you just learned, or have been riding a stand up for years,
bring it on down to Winter Haven October 18-21st. Love to have you, especially
for the DVD!
(this is the first ever competition for towed stand up hydrofoiling that I
am aware of. Correct me if I am wrong, but lets have a good showing
anyway!)
Schedule As I mentioned before, the schedule is Freeride on Thursday, Competition on
Friday and Saturday, and Freeride on Sunday. I want people to come to this for
the enjoyment of what we do, not to come and get all nervous because they are in
a tournament. The theme of the weekend will be that of a Reggae bar, one with a
limbo bar. Except it is how high you can go. So feel free to come and bring
your mate, your kids, and whoever you want, and enjoy yourself. I expect
approximately 50+ competitors, but who knows. I would also like to see as many
supporters as possible to come down and show the riders some love.Prize Money...
Saturday night we will be having a band, and we will also have a Stand up
Jet Ski Pro here who does flat water gainers. You gotta see that one. Keith
St. Onge, World Champion Barefooter, will also be around showing his stuff on
and off the water. It's gonna be a great time.
So book your tickets now. The hotel is filling up, and the prices for the
plane tickets ain't going down. For those who are within driving distance,
bring your boat if you wish. (let me know if you are bringing your boat, so I
know how many we have) The lakes are coming back up, and hopefully by October
all of the canals will be open for full enjoyment of all 16 lakes. Not to
mention there will be many riders looking for some off camera action.
Hope to see you here! (For full details of the event, go to www.foiltime.com)Entry form to be printed and emailed or mailed to: genoyauchler@aol.com ORPro Action Sports, LLC

Old info below. Anything contradicting the above statements is considered out dated. All else is correct.
The 2007
chain reaction tournament has just taken a new twist. We will now be
accepting amateurs to the mix. We still have to make a final decision
on just how many categories we want to make, but for sure there will be
the following:
Pro
OpenJr's (Under 16) If enough
females enter, I may have another category for them. These different divisions
are subject to turn out. I need at least 4 for each to make it
worthwhile.The
standard web site proactionsportsllc.com is undergoing a facial, and
has mass errors, so please disregard. Temporarily, this web page will
be the authority on the 07 tournament.

This will be similar to a Flyin, with the DVD and TV show and Pro
Competition added to the mix. Riders during the finals will have 10 minutes to
show there goods, and compete for the title of king of tricks. A final format
has not been decided, but one thing is for sure, a big bag of tricks will be a
benefit on this one, as well as a properly conditioned body. My goal is to get
all of the tricks that are being thrown to date on video, and reward the best
overall foiler for their efforts. I also want to capture the lifestyle of this
sport, so that others can get a glimpse of what we do, and why we do it, not to
mention the fun we have in the process.
I had said before it would be invite only, but that is just a loophole to
get around the private home thing. The invitation is extended to anyone, as long
as they get me an email at least 1 week prior. I need to know what to expect so
that I can prepare.
Non-Competing Guests
Everyone must
contact me to ensure entrance to the home. All must wear wristbands during the
weekend to show they have paid to be here. Guests will be allowed, but must pay
to enter the site to help bring in more $$ for the prize money and the
video. You may pay at the front entrance, but I would prefer to take care of this prior to the event via pay pal or a check mailed to 516 Lake Lulu Dr.
To ride in the tournament, you must be an active member of USA Waterski. Supporting/guest membership may be allowed for guests that ride at the event, but not in the competition.
If
you wish to come as a guest, we will welcome all who wish to be here. There will
be a $50 weekend guest rate, which will go for anyone either staying here, or
people who will be staying elsewhere. (Riders get first dibs on all spots on site, and their entry fee covers this) This will cover any costs we may incur while entertaining you for 4 days. Again this is only to help support the
event. It is a possibility that I will be shelling $$ out of my own pocket to
make this happen, so don't feel like I am trying to make $$ off of this. I am
doing this event for 2 reasons.
1. I love this sport, and everything
that comes with it. 2. It is my birthday on the 20th. (yey!)
Anyone
interested in helping out with either the organization, or with sponsorship/
donations, please contact me personally at genoyauchler@ aol.com
No
matter how it goes down, I am sure there will be a great time had by all, and I
hope to see many of you here either to ride, or just to support the Athletes. I
will be sending out more information as it comes.
Looking forward to the
event,
